OUR VISION

  • To encourage young people to question and challenge gender norms, stereotypes and unconscious biases

  • To provide a platform for young people to be creative, curious and open-minded

  • To empower young people to strive for positive relationships, confidence, wellbeing and  equality for all genders

TIGER is a worker cooperative! This means our business is owned and controlled by us, the workers. We hope that by working cooperatively we can find new ways of working that do not reproduce the various forms of inequality and oppression that are often found in more traditional business models. We are also intersectional feminists.

'TIGER delivered a really interesting workshop on what was a challenging topic for our teachers to deliver. Porn and consent is a tricky subject for students and teachers alike, and having fresh faces at the front of the classroom helped students to open up and respond to some questions that might otherwise not be responded to. Thank you for your excellent workshops'

'Me and some friends heard about the gender ambassadors programme, which is run by feminist activists and educators TIGER during assembly. I really wanted to learn more about feminism, LGBT and trans issues, as even though they’re more fashionable now and are being discussed in the media, I still feel it’s really difficult for teens to find out about them'

WHAT WE OFFER

Our workshops are participant-led, interactive, creative, fun and for all genders. They provide valuable critical skills and knowledge as well as boosting confidence and well-being.

We have worked across the UK, including with the National Trust and the National Union of Teachers.

We can work with any age, including with businesses and teaching staff. Our youth sessions are generally delivered in schools, colleges, youth clubs and universities, but if you’d like us to work with a group which doesn’t fit into these criteria, please contact us. We can also combine topics and create bespoke workshops on most subjects relating to gender, just ask and we’ll see what we can do!

'I felt it was important for our young people to have good role models who were able to talk about lad culture in a way that was both accessible and enlightening. The workshops weren't patronising at all but really spoke to students at their level'

Laura Storey, English teacher and Literacy Curriculum coordinator, Abbeywood Community School
